I’m working with a large, multi-site consumer business that’s hiring a Payroll Manager. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with leadership experience who thrives on really having an impact and likes working with autonomy.

What you’ll be doing

  1. Managing the full internal payroll cycle, including data validation, calculations and payslip distribution
  2. Ensuring compliance with PAYE, National Insurance, National Minimum Wage, GDPR and other statutory requirements
  3. Maintaining accurate payroll records within payroll and HR systems
  4. Producing reports for HMRC, Gender Pay Gap reporting and monthly HR and finance insights
  5. Overseeing payroll systems to ensure optimal functionality and regulatory compliance
  6. Coordinating with HR colleagues on employee benefits including pensions, PMI and family-friendly benefits
  7. Acting as the main point of contact for payroll queries, communicating clearly and confidently with colleagues and managers

  1. Demonstrable UK payroll knowledge with working of legislation and compliance
  2. Highly organised with attention to detail and analytical skills
  3. Confident using payroll systems and Excel
  4. Professional, approachable and trusted to handle sensitive information with confidentiality
