With continued growth planned for the new financial year an opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Category Manager to join the business to work within their head office.
What does this role as Assistant Category Manager involve?
Managing assortment and range planning and selection for all channels
Undertaking regular review of given categories to optimise ranges in order to grow sales and margin
Review of promotional activity and implement learnings to improve promotional and margin performance
Managing the product range/new product ranges in line with the critical paths across all teams in the business
To liaise with the Merchandiser making them aware of any external factors that may require forecasts to change,
To negotiate and manage supplier terms specifically price, quality, availability, rebates and marketing support,
Develop effective communication with sales managers and close relationships with the trading teams.
What do I need to be successful in this role as Assistant Category Manager?
Experience with a well-known retailer in a assistant buying/assistant category management position
Previous experience with home or furniture product areas
Proven track record in building successful ranges and strategies
Able to build effective relationships across all levels within an organisation, communicating with clarity and credibility
Excellent verbal and written communication skills including IT proficiency
