Procurement Buyer (12 month FTC) - Kent - Fast-paced and Dynamic Business
This is a great opportunity for a Buying/Procurement Specialist to join a specialist supplier known for their innovative and high quality product range. This is a key appointment for the business, with the ability to directly contribute to the creation and development of a bespoke, on-trend product range.
What does the Procurement Buyer role involve?
Working closely with key internal stakeholders with regards to Sales and Product Development briefings.
Creating and maintaining strong working relationships with existing and new suppliers to ensure alignment of business objectives alongside monitoring and review of supplier performance.
Ensuring smooth operation and communication between suppliers and internal stakeholders; resolving and responding to concerns or issues with appropriate action.
Manage to end to end buying process working very closely with Design and Product development teams; obtaining quotes for sales, full negotiation of costs and terms, sample approval and related activities.
Ongoing development of market knowledge for new product and service development. Ongoing forecasting, tracking of SLAs and rebates, producing regular and ad-hoc reporting.
Essential Skills and experience required for this Buying/Product Development Assistant role:
Experience in a Buying/procurement focus position in a retail or supplier environment.
Proven experience liaising directly with suppliers to negotiate the best terms possible in relation to goods and services.
Be an effective communicator, with an ability to deal diplomatically at all levels, both internally and externally.
Have excellent planning and organisational skills to ensure deadlines are met.
Advanced experience of working with Outlook and Microsoft Excel
Have strong numerical skills, ability to work accurately with data
