Own Brand Buyer (Ceramic & Glass)
£35,000 - £45,000 (depending on experience)
Working for a global supplier the purpose of the role as Own Brand Buyer (Ceramic & Glass) is to the management of private label projects in retail. The role will involve working closely with National Account Managers and their customers, consisting of Garden Centres, Supermarkets, Retail stores, Department Stores, Online retailers and Mail Order Companies. The role will entail working to customer briefs, liaising directly with our factories under the guidance of the Product Director to ensure the product is delivered in line with the critical path to the pricing and quality standards required.
Manage the various customer critical paths and key dates to ensure product launch dates are met
Responsible for developing product specific to customer briefs
Liaise directly with factories to develop and manage the product ranges from concept through to delivery whilst negotiating the best price and quality to the agreed deadlines
Brief designers on new concepts taken from customer briefs and trends
Managing relationships with customers, suppliers, sales team, QA, design and merchandising
Ceramic & glass substrate knowledge along with the associated benefits and drawbacks
Significant experience within a buying environment, retail or wholesale
Dealing and visiting directly with factories in Europe & The Far East
Experience in sourcing product and negotiating pricing, volume, timelines and quality with suppliers
Strong attention to detail
Self-motivated with the ability to prioritise, work accurately and effectively under pressure.
YOU MUST HAVE CERAMIC / GLASS BUYING OR CRITICAL PATH MANAGEMENT TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS ROLE.
