Online Merchandiser - Somerset - up to £35k - Great progression. This is a fantastic opportunity for an Online Merchandiser with retail experience to join a fast growing business with excellent career progression. This role provides an opportunity to contribute and be a key part of the growth of the business and the ever growing E-Commerce department.

What does the Online Merchandiser role involve?

  • Responsible for identifying and understanding consumer behaviour to recommend and take action to improve customer journey and therefore conversion.
  • Work cross functionally to ensure category consistency and optimisation of traffic for all online channels, influencing extension and promotional activity where possible. Review of merchandising performance recommending improvements as necessary.
  • You will have ownership and accountability for your product categories, driving up online sales vs targets, analysing data and reporting on performance vs targets on a weekly basis to inform decision making. Managing product removal and additions for categories.
  • Ensure that owned categories align with SEO strategy to increase traffic, quality and the use of web analytics tools to to improve Key Performance Metrics e.g. AOV, Views, Bounce Rate and Conversion.
  • Successfully manage the automated product recommendation tool and on-site search tool to increase average order values.
  • Liaise across the E-Commerce team to ensure that any relevant marketing activity (publications and promotions) are supported on the website.

Essential Skills and experience required for this Online Merchandiser role:

  • A commercially and numerically minded professional with good attention to detail and strong excel skills.
  • Experience managing people would be a preference.
  • Great attention to detail and a high standard of numeracy (including strong Excel skills).
  • Ability to effectively organise worlkload to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships and influence to produce results.
  • Experience with SEO and conversion rate optimisation, driving imrovements through Web Analytics.
  • Evidenced experience operating in an online retailer with ability to create and mould online promotional content.
