The role

An exciting role with a leading retailer based near Reading!

To lead on the external local marketing support given to our retail store estate across UK, Ireland and Continental Europe.

To support the launch of new stores, relocated stores and store closures. To support identified 'focus' stores and those where deemed a significant opportunity presents itself for sales growth.

To develop and own the Local Marketing toolkit for store self help.

What is required to be successful as a Marketing Manager - Retail?
To develop & lead a co-ordinated plan on support for local store marketing
To lead on the development & delivery of all local marketing to support the store development programme and focus stores identified through:-

-Direct mail
-Leaflets to be used external to the store
-Events both in-store or external to store eg in shopping centres, colleges, trade shows
-Store social media marketing, in collaboration with the Social Media Co-ordinators
-Email & SMS, in collaboration with the Digital Communications Leads
-In-store vouchering (Ecrebo), in collaboration with the Digital Communication Leads
-Digital advertising localised eg SEO, PPC in collaboration with Digital Advertising Lead
To design, develop and implement a Local Marketing toolkit for store self help
To manage the local marketing budget

Person - to be a Marketing Manager - Retail

  • Marketing experience
  • Minimum 3 years in retail marketing
  • Store marketing experience essential - working with multiple stores
  • Excellent planning skills
  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks at any one time, being able to prioritise effectively
  • Excellent communicator with ability to present confidently
  • Customer focused, in this case strong understanding of stores & ability to work with and engage with store operations teams
  • Innovation minded, loves to seek out new ideas for sales driving
  • Ideally one European language spoken eg French
