Manufacturing Engineering Manager - Norfolk - up to £50k

Are you an experienced Manufacturing Engineering professional with strong management skills looking for a new challenge?

This unique opportunity with a growing manufacturing business is now looking to add to their Norfolk team. This people focused business has a culture and values that are second to none.

Reporting to the Operations Director, the role will be responsible for managing, leading, mentoring and motivating an operational team of direct reports to execute the daily production plan, ensuring quality and productivity is maximised, in line with company guidelines whilst controlling costs (materials, labour etc).

So what does this role involve?

  • Overall responsibility of the production and quality of all products, to ensure they exceed customer expectations

  • Drive improvements in staff performance and operational productivity, quality and 'Lean' targets

  • Leading and motivating the team managers, through effective communication to ensure production and delivery targets are met

  • Review financial information and utilise this information to improve profitability

  • Ensure that appropriate systems are in place to measure and manage staff performance and to coach and develop a high performance workforce

  • Manage and reduce costs through efficient purchasing, storage and waste control of materials, whilst maintaining high quality standards

  • Ensure that Health and Safety guidelines are adhered to

So what do I need to be considered for this role?

  • Experience in a similar role e.g. Production Manager, Manufacturing Manager, Assembly Manager, Operations Manager within a production, manufacturing or engineering environment

  • The ability to motivate and lead a team

  • Sound knowledge and practical experience of Lean fundamentals and continuous improvement within manufacturing is preferable

  • Good planning and organisational skills and ability to work to budget

  • Excellent communication and 'people skills' with the ability to communicate effectively and relate to people at all levels and all relevant stakeholders

  • Experience of delivering results against operational, quality, safety and cost targets

  • Computer literacy and current valid driving licence
