We are excited to be partnering with RHS Wisley to recruit this exciting position. It's a really exciting time to join the RHS retail team as we embark on opening our fifth shop and plant centre at our new Bridgewater garden. As a Head of Wisley Garden Centre you will be responsible for driving the retail business, developing your team and achieving budgets, done through industry leading customer service, amazing product and plant selection, ensuring stock availability meets demand and inspirational in store merchandising.

Overview of the role:

  • To deliver the sales and profit targets for Wisley retail, delivering retail excellence together with high levels of customer service.

  • Train, manage and develop the team to ensure high levels of customer service using our Customer Promise training programme.

  • Actively promote the Career Progression Framework within the retail teams, ensuring support is given to maximise our team's development.

  • Deliver the highest visual display and signage standards, ensuring these are delivering commercially and are brand appropriate

  • Review plant ranges and product performance and in discussion with central team to ensure the required sales levels are delivered.

  • Manage expenditure to set budgets ensuring surplus is delivered.

Essential Experience and Qualifications:

  • Experience of Plant Centre operations & gift retailing, comprehensive product knowledge, particularly plants and associated horticultural products.

  • A strong visual display knowledge and experience.

  • Previously managed and developed a retail team.

  • Financial aptitude for sales, margins, profit performance and budgeting.
