Financial Analyst - Somerset - Up to £45k - Unique Opportunity

This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially minded Financial Analyst to join a fast growing business with a great working culture. You will directly contribute to and influence key business decisions through regular and accurate financial reporting. Working closely with stakeholder, you will identify risks and opportunities, making actionable recommendations to contribute directly to the ongoing success and growth of the business.

What does the Financial Analyst role involve?

  • Partnering with Business Areas to provide accurate and timely forecasting, budgeting and performance reporting on ongoing and proposed business activities. Providing constructive challenge and actionable recommendations to proposals where possible.

  • Ongoing monitoring and forecasting of existing activity vs plan and undertaking lessons learned analysis of completed projects to increase success rates.

  • Regular performance reporting and analysis of KPI trends to identify root cause and risk mitigation actions; working with stakeholders to improve existing measures and identify new reporting tools and measures.

  • Facilitate planning process, working closely with internal stakeholders with regards to regular progress updates and ensuring that key deliverables are achieved.

  • Ongoing input and support for the production of presentation for internal and external stakeholders.

  • Regular monitoring, review and reporting of departmental expenses with key contacts; identifying key trends, making recommendations and re-forecasting where necessary.

Essential Skills and experience required for this Financial Analyst role:

  • You will be a Qualified Accountant (ideally CIMA), preferably from a retail or FMCG background.

  • You will be a have advanced Excel skills with strong experience in financial modelling and analytics, specifically regarding appraisal of business activities.

  • Ability to build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders;with ability and confidence to provide challenge with clear and concise supporting evidence.

  • Great planning and organisation skills; presenting complex sets of information in a clear and timely manner.
