What does this Buyer - Homeware role involve?

  • Responsible for communication direct with factories and suppliers in UK, Europe and Asia.
  • Taking full responsibility for developing existing and new product innovation, competitor research anf product packaging and labelling.
  • Liaising directly with suppliers globally to develop products from concept through to end delivery.
  • Collecting product information and sharing it with relevant departments to ensure products are ready for sale.
  • Managing the critical path of all new products that are in development, including any supplier meetings and new product launches.
  • Coordinating with the stock controller and marketing in relation to creating promotion and stock planning.

What qualities will you need to be successful in this Buyer - Homeware role?

  • Be in a buying or category management role with UK retail business
  • You will need to have experience in homewares or furniture
  • A keen eye for product innovations, excellent attention to detail and a natural talent for spotting opportunities and current market trends
  • Ability to plan and organise workload effectively and be able to work under pressure to tight deadlines
  • Negotiate and build lasting relationships based on your strategy and vision for your category
  • You may also have previous titles including Buyer, Assistant Buyer or Category Manager.
