**Assistant Buyer - Southampton - £23,000**

Are you comfortable making decisions on a daily basis with the ability to think on your feet and move quickly?

Our client is a large UK supplier of Health, Beauty & Nursery products to the pharmacy/retail sector. They are looking for an Assistant Buyer to come in to boost the Buying department.

What are the key skills required for this Assistant Buyer vacancy?

  • Someone who has the ability to interact, communicate and negotiate effectively with customers and suppliers.

  • Strong PC literacy

  • Excellent organisational and time management skills

  • An individual who has an eye for products and packaging

  • Excellent admin skills

What does the role involve?

  • Ordering and managing stock to maintain service levels.

  • Understanding of the critical path analysis.

  • Oversee the complete procurement life cycle from cradle to grave.

  • Have total ownership of smaller scale procurement projects.

  • Presenting new ranges to the sales team.

  • Maintain the product database.

  • Liaising and negotiating with Far East Factories.

  • Analise sales and range performance.

  • Visit Far East trade shows / factories with the Senior Buyer as appropriate.
