Commercial
 
A great recruiter knows how to sell their services. This works for both the candidate and the client. A recruiter will sell themselves to either party because they want that candidate or client to choose YOU over other recruiters. You also need to be able to sell candidate to the client and vice versa. Your negotiation and selling skills are therefore crucial to this line of work.
 
Curiosity

Recruiters need to be able to really get to know their candidate. They are really delving into the requirements and motivations of the candidate and aren't afraid to ask challenging questions. The more a recruiter knows about a candidate, the better the chances of helping them find the perfect role. You know the right questions to ask to get the answers you need in order to best help both your candidates and the clients as well. 
 
Enthusiasm

Recruitment is all about the people. You deal with a variety of different people on a daily basis and having great relationship building skills is essential. You love getting to know people and building those networks with your clients and candidates. 

Competitiveness

All of our recruitment consultants strive for success. We work together as a team to push ourselves to the next level and beyond while at the same time always thinking 'What can I do to make this better?' Whether it's working towards a team target or a personal one, you're always pushing yourself to do better every day.

Excellent Communication

Recruitment is all about communication. Whether it's face-to-face in interviews or talking to candidates and clients on the phone, you love to talk. An ability to communicate with a range of people is a skill an extraordinary recruiter masters. Good recruitment consultants have a natural ability with both the written and spoken word which ensures all their communications are enjoyable and productive for both parties.

Resilience

As with any job you have good days and you have bad days. In recruitment it's important that you don't let the setbacks stop you from moving forward. Extraordinary recruiters are mentally prepared to deal with the rigours of working in the fast-paced industry day-to-day, and are resilient when things go wrong with ability to ‘bounce back’ from rejection with an optimistic, energised outlook
