Recruitment Consultant - Graduate Trainee

Middlesex/Surrey, £22,000 - £26,000 Bonus Package Structured career advancement

When you consider that recruitment is unregulated and doesn't require qualifications it's quite startling. After all, we often have people's careers in our hands. Alongside getting married and moving house, changing our job is a life changing event.

At AdMore we understand the impact of what we do, that's why we invest heavily in the support, development and rigorous training that our people receive. Our colleagues are stretched but are not thrown in at the deep end. As such we are looking for career orientated graduates, retailers and recruiters to join our team on a dedicated development programme. The position will be research and support focused initially but will incorporate elements of recruitment as your experience and confidence grow.

So what will your career as a Recruitment & Research Consultant at AdMore look like?

Year One - Forming

Working alongside an experienced consultant you will:

  • Research Retail categories & job functions, providing analysis where required - Knowledge is power!
  • Identify, target and register candidates for assignments we are working on, utilising a variety of traditional and modern search methodologies.
  • Spend time with our clients learning about their businesses whether that be a few days in a store or time in a Head Office. Empathy is king.
  • Develop talent attraction strategies; writing advert copy, blog posts and other content while managing the subsequent response.
  • Work on market mapping projects, client pitch documentation and presentations.
  • Develop our Social Media presence, constantly looking for innovative ways to market your and our business.
  • Learn about database administration and maintenance. Not glamourous, but an essential part of all our jobs - Retail is Detail!
  • Arrange and attend interviews and meetings.

Year Two - Norming

Working alongside an experienced consultant you will:

  • Actively support in the management of the Senior Consultant's client portfolio
  • Conduct retainer interviews utilising a number of selection methodologies including Competency based interviewing and Psychometric testing.
  • Experience recruitment first-hand managing some of your own vacancies.
  • Work on bespoke consultancy projects looking at client recruitment processes, social media and employer brand.
  • Develop a candidate network which you can tap in to in the future.
  • Contribute to our blog - More Insight.
  • Attend networking conferences within Recruitment and Retail.

Year 3 and beyond - Performing

Once you have completed your two year training programme you will have a choice of 5 career options available to you:

  1. Develop a Specialism in a category and partner as a Researcher with one of our Senior Consultants.
  2. Join our Business Support team, working on a wide range of business projects with our Director of HR & Business Support, Sophie Mackenzie.
  3. Join our Consultant team coached by our Managing Director, Giles Gallimore, with support from Sophie's team of course.

4. Leave and join another recruitment firm. You will be a highly sought-after, honed recruitment professional and will undoubtedly lead a highly successful recruitment career. However, we haven't told you what years 4, 5 or 10 look like yet…

So what are we looking for?

You will be honest, empathetic, energetic, driven, confident, mature, flexible, fun at work and at play, focussed, results driven, solutions orientated, competitive but a team player, somebody that values the input of others, able to balance short and long term objectives and resilient under pressure. Oh, and we will be performing a metaphorical check that you have two ears and one mouth!

Ideally you will be a graduate with commercial experience, with strong written and oral communication skills and able to produce evidence of continuous self-development, regardless of your current career.
