Product Development Assistant - Oxfordshire - up to £25k - Fast-paced and Dynamic Business

This is a great opportunity for a Product Development Assistant to join a specialist furniture and home retailer known for their innovative and high quality product range. This is a key appointment for the business, with the ability to directly contribute to the creation and development of a bespoke, on-trend product range.

What does the Product Development Assistant role involve?

  • Liaison with external stakeholders, technical and design teams to obtain all key information and sampling details in order to create commercial, on-trend samples, product ranges.

  • Pro-active market research, identification of trends and competitive threats to feed the sampling and product development process. Responsibility for administration and collection of information for internal stakeholders; design, merchandising and web teams.

  • Responsible for the management of intake; management of critical path, creating purchase orders, product life cycle system maintenance and gold-seal sign-off as per specification.

  • Supplier liaison on sample production, delivery dates, QA and QC resolving issues in a timely and costly manner where possible.

  • Provision of up to date and accurate information to internal stakeholders to ensure relevance and accuracy of brochure, web and marketing materials.

  • Maintaining and updating Sample and Stock Management database, inventory and ensuring accuracy and availability at all times.

  • Deputises for Product Development Manager on ad-hoc projects, sampling and administrative duties as per business requirements.

Essential Skills and experience required for this Product Development Assistant role:

  • Be an effective communicator, with an ability to deal diplomatically at all levels, both internally and externally.

  • A good understanding of Product Development with experience or a keen interest in Furniture and/or Home.

  • Have excellent planning and organisational skills to ensure deadlines are met.

  • Ability to demonstrate a creative innovative approach to problem solving.

  • Capable of working unsupervised and able to use own initiative.

  • Can multi-task and is happy to be challenged by a fast pace role with a high interruption level.

  • Have strong numerical skills, ability to work accurately with data
