Category Manager - Suffolk - up to £28k - Unique Opportunity. This a fantastic opportunity for individuals with Retail Category Management, Merchandising and/or Buying experience looking to move towards a career in Category Management. This is a newly created position in a dynamic and fast-growing team, you will have direct influence on the strategic direction and end to end delivery of your category.
Within this Category Manager role you will:
Accountability and timely management of promotional activity for category; ensuring margin is maintained and improved, working with suppliers to ensure in line with seasonal trends.
Responsibility for the creation and delivery of annual sales and turnover budget for category - ongoing monitoring, analysis and reporting of performance vs budget making recommendations where possible.
Pro-actively work with new and existing suppliers on new product development, placing and branding ensuring in line with operational requirements. Ongoing and ad-hoc reviews to identify risks and opportunities, escalating and taking action where required.
Working closely with internal and external stakeholders with regards to Marketing and Promotion of products, maintaining strong working relationships and communications to take advantage of new opportunities where possible.
Provide weekly summary of performance within areas of responsibility, relating to sales, stock, profit and promotions and markdown versus budget and last year.
Working closely with retail and supplier counterparts to reduce stock loss and wastage, ensuring the best commercially viable margin for products, in conjunction with company policies and procedures.
Ensuring Health and Safety standards and procedures are upheld both internally and externally; identifying and minimising risks; working with relevant internal teams regarding the auditing of suppliers accordingly

Previous experience within a Head Office Category Management, Merchandising or Buying position
Professional, organised, methodical and efficient.
Advanced Planning and analytical skills (advanced Excel skills).
Promotes personal credibility through working productively.
Works independently with effective time management.
