Job Description

Unit HR Manager - Logistics and Distribution

Location: Peterborough

Salary: up to £55000 basic salary excellent benefits package

Client

Our client is a leading DIY and Home retailer.

Role

As a Unit HR Manager you will be able:-

  • To demonstrate a true understanding and share in client's people centric approach and values based retail store environment/ distribution centre and be part of the senior management team for at time 600 co workers

  • Be a strong contributor to the Unit management team, lead the HR team and secure HR subject matter, expertise and process HR operations matters to ensure that strategies are locally translated into action in the most effective and efficient way to fulfil the job purpose.

  • Ensure a constructive cooperation with works council/unions where applicable.

  • You will enjoy being hands on and be happy to be engaging a large team.

  • Help establish our client as the preferred employer of choice by attracting those who share the companies values, ensuring development for all co-workers, inspiring the co-workers to perform and remain with our client.

  • Support the business needs and direction to achieve the business objectives.

  • Be an inspirational leader.

  • Be able to work in partnership with all business functions and be a key stakeholder in decision making and service providing.

  • Actively contribute to the growth of the business through and with people at all levels.

Person

  • You will be highly commercial and people focused and have a passion for service delivery.

  • You will have a proven track record in an Retail HR capacity or logistics and distribution centre HR exposure working preferably in a people focused culture.

  • CIPD qualified is preferred but for this retailer by no means essential.

  • Be a passionate individual that has strong beliefs in co-workers potential.

  • Understand and have experience in talent management, recruitment, development and succession.

  • With a positive approach, you will be a strong communicator and a skilled people manager and be adept at succession planning and performance management.

  • Experience as in HR Management or logistics and distribution for a retailer would be advantageous.

  • A preference for future geographical flexibility / potential relocation for your own future development is preferred for applicants.

  • Degree educated is preferred but also not essential.
