Buyer - Somerset - up to £50k package - Fast Growing Business! This a fantastic opportunity for commercially minded professionals (ideally with Retail Buying experience) looking to join a unique and fast-growing business. You will be required to adapt to quickly in a fast-paced environment, with the opportunity to directly influence the strategic direction of your category with a focus on the creation and delivery of plans.
Within this Buyer role you will:
You will take the lead in producing tactical plans and trading activity for your category, including marketing, Point of Sale and nomination of product.
You will utilise customer and market insights to develop a medium term trading strategy that will deliver profitable sales. Proactive analysis of trends, market data and sales to feed the budgeting and execution of the trading plan, whilst ensuring customer focus.
Build and maintain strong working relationships with suppliers to deliver a profitable promotion strategy and range.
Use product knowledge to highlight trends and identify local market product requirements and opportunities.
Ongoing monitoring and use of market insights and competitor pricing data to set pricing model for all implemented products and ranges. Including regular competitor and store visits.
Prepare and deliver presentations to several areas of the business based on proposed range and promotion strategies.
Manage range changes, setting availability and stock expectations within business parameters; including any required exit strategies.
Skills & Experience required for this Buyer role:
Buying experience preferably within a retail environment. A background in Plumbing product categories would be an advantage.
A commercial and customer focused mindset with understanding of sales channels and experiences producing comprehensive sales plans.
Strategic sales management, understands seasonality, price perception and has the understanding to create and deliver on commercial concepts.
Experience influencing and negotiating with internal and external stakeholders, whilst adapting to changing priorities and delivering plans in a timely manner.
Clear understanding of financial reporting.
Intermediate Microsoft Office knowledge including Excel and PowerPoint
Experience of leading and supporting and developing team.
